Genuinely the best hostel imaginable. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the hostel itself is beautiful with very good facilities, excellent location and options to rent gear and other stuff for hiking. Staff arrange social activities every night, all people I met here were friendly and sociable. It’s the perfect base in zakopane for all adventures and I couldn’t recommend it more. I already miss it 😞

This might be one of the most controversial reviews I’ve ever written. You’ll find a lot of completely conflicting opinions about this place, so let me try to guide you. This is the only hostel I’ve ever left with a real sense of missing it. It’s hard to explain the charm—the atmosphere, the incredibly helpful volunteers, the warm welcomes, and the genuinely great company. Overall, it’s an experience I would absolutely repeat. The hostel is run by a group of kind, welcoming volunteers, set in the beautiful Zakopane mountains. It’s a bit challenging to reach since it’s up on a hill, but once you’re there, it’s unforgettable. They’ll also help you plan your hikes, and honestly—join the group, don’t go alone. Don’t miss that part of the experience. Just make sure to pick a group that matches your fitness level. You’ll hear about the propane smell, the small spaces, the crowding… all of that is true. This isn’t a polished, high-end, fully equipped place—it feels more like a small house full of friends. Bring your own food—only breakfast is served, and the nearest supermarket is about a 20-minute walk and closes early. And be ready for long nights of discussions, chilling, and bonding with friends you just met. I’d say it’s best suited for solo travelers who aren’t looking for luxury, but rather a cozy place with great vibes and even better people. Finally, I would regret not going there.

Really lovely and wholesome wee place on the outskirts of Zakopane. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay and it was a nice communal atmosphere with everyone staying there. It’s a cute log cabin type setup and there’s two cats and a goat! Breakfast was nice too. I’ll definitely return sometime to climb in the Tatras again!

Stayed here twice now, jan 2025 and sept 2025. And quite frankly cant wait to return again, i absolutely loved the place and the people i met there both times. Mia and mao are gorgeous as is the goat. Lovely artwork on the walls and great structural architecture, traditional. Great walks (morski oko and simply short treks around 'home') The other guests were fab, and though we will never meet again - we became friends. Volunteers (mostly) really great - one bit naff in jan, but hey that's no big issue as all others brill. Hope to return in May for longer this time. ❤️
